Coronavirus Update
Updated 21st January 2022
As Covid-19 restrictions are slowly lifted by Government, we plan to do so in a cautious and careful way to help keep our guests, staff and the wider community as safe as possible.
We have reviewed and considered cleaning protocol guidance provided by Public Health England and the The Professional Association Of Self Caterers and are continually updating our procedures to meet or exceed the guidelines so you can feel safe during your stay with us. These steps are under regular review and may alter at any time.
Some of our COVID-19 measures
We will maintain a streamlined property inventory to help reduce the spread of any viral infection, you can see what’s included in the kitchen by looking at our property inventory.
Our cleaning programme covers many important areas, such as ensuring high touch points are sanitised (e.g. light switches, door/window handles etc).
We will continue to launder mattress and pillow protectors, bed linen and towels are stored for over 72 hours before their next use. All bed linen will continue going through a roller iron which gets up to a high enough temperature that kills all known bacteria and viruses. Towels, bath mats and other items are washed on a full 60 degree wash cycle.
Our housekeepers continue to have access to PPE, such as disposable aprons, gloves and masks and visors if needed.
To reduce cross-contamination between accommodation, we use washable, microfibre mop heads along with microfibre cloths, only used per property and washed at 60 degrees between changeovers. Vacuum cleaners are fitted with HEPA filter bags to prevent the spread of the virus through airborne particles.
We have decided for the time being to not reinstate our housekeeping service. However, if you are staying for 6 or more nights, we can provide fresh bed linen and towels if needed.
Guests are advised to check our website for the most up to date information on places to Eat and Drink (opening times and other information may have altered since the Welcome Book in the accommodation was printed).
We meet guests on arrival from a safe distance and our “contactless” departure procedure is communicated by email several days before your arrival. This email includes details on how you can contact us if you need any help during your stay.
We recommend guests ventilate the accommodation when departing (if weather conditions allow).
Government information may change therefore all guests must check government information themselves and understand any changes or new rules prior to visiting and also during a stay in case of any last minute changes. Please check relevant government websites for the latest information.
If you would like any further information on any of the above or anything else related to your stay, do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to help!
We look forward to welcoming you soon.

To cook in or go out?
All our cottages and apartments have fully equipped kitchens with cooking facilities (the Nest Box and Kovva, our smallest rooms, have limited facilities). If you plan to stay in, why not order a pizza from La Bocca or an Indian from one of Bude’s restaurants, direct to the retreat’s door. You can even pre-order drinks so they are waiting for you in your room on arrival.
If you like to dine out, we recommend booking in advance if possible. Find out more on out Eat and Drink page.
