The following route (also shown on the map) avoids narrower country lanes.
Take the A30 from Exeter to Launceston.
Take the turning off the A30 to Launceston (signposted Bude B3254), you then come to a roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Western Road and continue along this road for about 1 mile, (you will pass a Co-Op Petrol station on your right after half a mile) continue on this road until you go downhill along St Thomas Road, this is going past Launceston Castle, on the right hand side.
Just past a BP fuel station at the bottom of the hill, on your right you will reach a mini roundabout take the 2nd exit which goes up the hill (St Stephen's Hill).
After about 1.3 miles travelling along the Bude road (B3254) you will pass over Yeolmbridge (your priority), continue for another 8 miles which will take you through the village of Whitstone.
Tip: this maybe a good opportunity to stop for provisions at Spar Whitstone Village Store.
Continue through Whitstone and you will stay on this road for another 4.5 miles until you reach the crossroads (Red Post) take the left turn to Stratton/Bude (A3072) for about 2.7 miles, drive through Stratton and you will come to the A39 (The Atlantic Highway), turn left.
Tip: between Whitstone and Red Post there are 4 left turns which are shortcuts to the village of Marhamchurch, these routes are fairy narrow and so we advise you to travel a bit further (3.5 miles) around this also gives you the opportunity to localise yourself with the town of Bude.
After about 0.3 miles you need to go straight ahead at the roundabout, staying on the A39 and passing the Bude turning on your right (A3072).
Tip: Morrisons is located just 0.3 miles down this first Bude turning on the roundabout.
Staying on the A39, after 0.8 miles you will pass the next Bude turning on your right.
Tip: this is the quickest turning to use to reach the town of Bude during your stay.
Directly past the Bude turning, take the next left (Pinch Hill) and head towards the village of Marhamchurch.
Tip: if you miss this turn do not worry, stay on the A39 for a further 0.8 miles and take the next left at Helebridge to head towards Marhamchurch.
After about 0.3 miles you will come to a junction, turn left (with Marhamchurch Community Shop on the left) taking the Week St Mary road for 0.2 miles out of the village (Sharlands Road). As you come out of the village there is a large grey agricultural shed on your left and you will notice the national speed limit signs, directly after those take the next left at the entrance to Wooldown Holiday Cottages.
We look forward to welcoming you to Wooldown Holiday Cottages!
